We took the last 5 months off of playing, writing and recording music. We learned to surf, we went to Japan, and we thought a lot about the role of music in our lives. Much of the last 10 years has felt like running blindly on a treadmill. Inundated by opposing opinions about what our music is and where we should be going with it, we found it increasingly difficult to pick a direction, and believe in ourselves. In our darkest, most uncertain year, we wrote a collection of songs. These songs are about hanging in the balance - life and death, faith and atheism, longing to be “someone” yet despising the system which gives artists acclaim.

After taking this time to reset our hearts and open our minds - we feel calmer, more grounded, and for what is certainly the first time, secure in our imperfections. We made this EP “Vol. 3” to tell our listeners, in the most honest, raw way possible, what we had to say about the meeting of new and old, divine and superficial in our modern world.

About the album art: It is inspired by Iejima in Okinawa. It is a beautiful island with a unique juxtaposition of modern architecture and ancient landscape. The island was almost destroyed by battle in WW2 - the mountain behind us, considered a sacred place to the locals, still has signs of gunfire in its rockface.
